Knowing what they are
More like Tics than jumpers.
Cleaning the Shop Vac today.
One jumped on wrist.
Got him with Alcohol.
Washed it out.
Cleaned Filter off site.
Bagged the sweepings and hosed out the whole thing.
Jumped in shower.
Put work clothes directly in Washer.
You must live on these protocols.
Treat all waste as contaminated.
No bugs in over 10 days and want to keep it that way.

Alcohol will kill the nasty little beasts.
Not what I thought they were.
Not hopping bugs like Fleas.
But crawlers and plodders.
Have pulled them from feeding from my forearms...
it feels like removing a scab.
Alcohol will kill the nasty little beasts.
Have at it.
Have not seen enemy in a week.
Have read on line that the 'all clear' point is at 50 - 60 days.
All clothing still in plastic bags. Straight from the dryer.
Vacuum and steam now as the hope is that chemical methods are now at an end.
Airing the whole place out every day with Fans blasting.
AC only sleeping hours.
Not hopping bugs like Fleas.

Use Dry Ice to build trap and detector.
Learn tactics of air movement within your “foxhole” (sleeping quarters)
Hide your CO2 plume from this preyer on mankind.
Test to see if you have them.
Provide “ocular proof” of your infestation to landlords and doubters.
Just getting started...

If Dry Ice can be found at a reasonable rate a prototype will be built by the research foundation here (at your service am I)

I was vacuuming after I was thinking I was reaching an "all clear" monent
and one sucked its sustanance from me from under my arm as I tried to suck up as many bretheren both dead and alive and the carcases of previous days - now weeks of battle.
Surely the industrial strength stuff the guys in the building at work gave me the instructions for using would do the trick?
Was the 15 hours I spent steaming the bedroom carpet with a hand steamer from the big box store worth the pain?
And yet after all of that - with now just the bed and one dresser in the room. Far from all walls.
No backboards for me for who knows how long.
Just another example of how life changing this is all going to be my brothers and sisters in arms.
Gather by this electronic glow and share your tales of woe and of strategies of victories and contributions to my new quest to rid this world of all Bed Bugs. May they go the way of the Dodo for all I care.

But brazen entitled clingers more akin to a chigger of a tick than a flea bite as I had envisioned.
Perhaps I was stupid once again but ...
They feel like a scab perhaps from a pervious bite - yes sorry if you have been there but you can lose counts and dates. You may want to keep a log. I kick myself that I did not document the bites in pictures. Dang.
When they get me the mark will itch for 7 to 10 days. Never had anything itch like these do. Poison Ivy with more staying power. My Doctor gave me some Steroid Cream that was a wonderful help.

Yes your clothes dryer is your new best friend but you can't put everything in the dryer. Alas.
Heat is their Kryptonite dear friends. All stages die in the heat including the eggs.
Gotta get it up to about 130 for about 3 hours to do the job.
Did you know you can't set my oven can't be set below 170 ?
(Yes I thought the idea of a truly toasty pillow would be comforting.)
They will win rounds my friends. Do not loose heart. There will be tragic set backs.
You must persist.
These horrible beasts serve no ecological purpose in the very least.
They eat just one food. Blood. Human blood.
OK some Bat blood but you get my point.
No species needs them to exist.
They require only nips into our skin to tap our life's blood.
One trip to "the Host" for each molting. For some bizarre ritual of graduation of their stages of life.
Like some gang banger initiation.

signs that their fast food joint is just over there…

Death to all Bed Bugs
Phases of a desperate War.
There are now two kinds of people in this land from sea to sea.
You have had bed bugs or - it may just be a matter of time and luck.
It has been only a month now that my life had changed - plunged into war.
Out foxed out played out numbered by the hive mind that has succeeded in feeding off only the blood of mankind for millennia.
Does that not in a way strike awe? One food source. Much larger than you. Faster.
Yet they in light and night ( they are not believe you me at all solely nocturnal ) Trust me and read on for specific examples.
I began this war a fool.
Twice now I had thought the war at the wane or at least in a detant.
Now of course I wish I had kept a journal - I wonder now shall I ramble or try to re construct?
In advance dear reader and brother in arms... take heart for you are not alone.
Not a pun here but a call and affirmation of an alliance.
We will get to a mission statement shortly as of today - Death to all Bed Bugs is our avowed goal.
We will provide hints.
Stories of woe and victory.
We will review methods.
Review products and make assessments of treatment values.
Tricks and ideas.
I am a single guy living through this humiliating horror. I just shudder to think what life could be like with a 2 and a 4 year old for example - it causes me to shudder.
The second day I knew I had them I had 50 to 100 bites on either forearm.
They were in the arms of my office chair first and moved on from there.
I will get the the whole sorry tale for you here.
Please lets us know about your experiences and your contributions of lessons you have learned on the front lines and in the trenches.

If the reversal of the ban on DDT even as a stop gap or a way to bridge the gap to the next chemical, genetic, forcefield pheromone - who cares what they come up with as long as it does not require a second mortgage.
There is little doubt that this is too raw to post as a first draft but in a way. That is what I hope this blog is about. Help me.
I searched on the Web - saw my doctor - spoke to many people - not a single one ever explained what the bites are like ... I was watching them for a month "eat their fill" like some post modern Assisi.
